In Europe, sustainable living often starts with small, everyday choices.
The most common habit is saving water, chosen by about one in three people. Far fewer make other practices their top priority, such as recycling and composting waste or adopting a plant-based diet, each selected by around one in eight.
Other actions, from using eco-friendly products to cutting energy use at home, attract smaller but still committed groups. More time- or cost-demanding steps, like investing in renewable energy or joining community clean-ups, remain rare, showing that many Europeans focus first on habits that are simple to fit into daily life.
